Home-School Agreement

The school will:

  • Provide a secure, happy and welcoming environment for all children.
  • Support parents/carers through the period of their child’s transition from primary to secondary school.
  • Provide an appropriate, broad and balanced curriculum, which aims to meet the individual needs of all students.
  • Provide regular and monitored homework to support the curriculum.
  • Achieve high standards of work and behaviour by providing opportunities for children to develop positive social relationships, self-esteem and a sense of responsibility.
  • Ensure that all pupils are aware that unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated.
  • Report formally on your child’s progress each term and provide opportunities to discuss pupils’ progress.

The parents will:

  • Support the aims, values and ethos of the school.
  • Ensure that your child attends school punctually and with minimum absence.
  • Inform the school if your child is absent by telephone on first day of absence.
  • Not take your child out of school during term time without the explicit permission of the Headteacher.
  • Ensure that your child is properly dressed in correct school uniform.
  • Ensure that your child completes all homework set to the best of his/her ability and in reasonable working conditions.
  • Attend Parents’ Evenings and meetings about your child’s progress.
  • Advise the school of any concerns or problems, which might affect your child’s progress.
  • Work constructively and cooperatively with the school to resolve any concerns about attendance, punctuality, behaviour or attainment and progress.
  • Respect all members of the school community, abiding by their policy of zero tolerance towards rude and aggressive behaviour.
  • Support the school’s approach to online safety and not deliberately upload or add any images, video, sounds or text that could upset or offend any member of the school community.

The pupils will:

  • Attend school punctually and with minimum absence.
  • Wear school uniform and be tidy in appearance.
  • Do their schoolwork and homework as well as they can and by the deadline set.
  • Bring necessary equipment and books, including pens and pencils, to all lessons.
  • Look after their school and surroundings.
  • Observe the school rules and behave responsibly at all times.
  • Conduct themselves in such a way as to enhance the school’s reputation within the community, including being polite and respectful to others.
  • Uphold the core values of Respect, Resilience, Curiosity and Conscientiousness.
