Catch Up Funding
Literacy and Numeracy Catch Up
The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium gives schools additional funding to support year 7 students who did not achieve the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of key stage 2 (KS2).
Current Catch Up grant allocation : £12,000
The use of the Catch Up premium is being continually developed so that it specifically targets those individuals who need support with their literacy and numeracy. Teaching staff monitor the progress of students and set challenges and extension tasks as well as supporting where appropriate.
Those students eligible for the literacy catch up benefit from reduced class sizes and extra support from a designated TA. Within Maths, specific PiXl resources are produced and delivered to those students that need it in small intervention groups which take place outside of lesson time.
