Have you ever wanted to write your own songs or other kinds of music?
Can you play an instrument or do you have a keen interest in music?
Have you ever wanted to become a DJ?
Have you ever wanted to work ‘behind the scenes’ in the music industry in a technical role?
The Music Technology BTEC encompasses all of these things.
THE COURSE – What will I learn?
- You will learn how to create a musical product (e.g. an event or a musical set). You will learn how to use equipment necessary to create this product.
- You will learn DJing techniques and how to use DJ equipment.
- You will learn to use computer-based technology that musicians use to create music.
BTEC MUSIC TECHNOLOGY – what is required?
BTECs are solely coursework based and require no exam. Deadlines must be adhered to at all times. BTEC is a work-based qualification and students will be placed into work based conditions to meet the requirements of the course.
You need a willingness to learn, an interest in music and the enthusiasm to participate in music making activities.
A qualification in music shows that you have creative abilities, confidence and self-discipline. It shows your ability to concentrate and work as a team, whatever your career choice. It is particularly useful if you want to become a performer, composer, producer, record company employee or broadcaster.
