Dawn Turner: 1978-1982

My favourite memory of William Edwards:

Performing in ‘The King and I’ and ‘Pirates of Penzance’.

Since leaving William Edwards:

Left school at 16 with no qualifications, got on a train to London, got a job on that same day as an Accounts Clerk.

I was an accounts Manager at the age 23.

My proudest achievement:

Being chosen by my peers as someone, ‘Leading the Way’, applying their core values, caring more, never settling and driving a ‘One Winning Team’ mentality in everything I did.

It was my co-workers who decided that I was a champion of these core values.

Life and lifestyle events, hobbies & interests and personal achievements:

  • I am a school governor for a local Primary School.
  • I make costumes and am a backstage co-ordinator for a local dance school that I have been involved with for 20 years

My advice to the present pupils of William Edwards:

If you don’t like the job you choose it’s never too late to change your career and do something else that you enjoy.

My next goal:

I have decided to study for an accounting qualification
